Howdy. If y'all have a tank at your place and you want some light cover and beautiful addition to the look of your tank, here's an idea. When you see the crews cutting the tops off of the crepe myrtles in your area, grab the large clippings and stick them around the bank of your tank. They will take root and in 2-3 years you'll have flowering trees around you while fishing. My oldest daughter did this when she was 9 and the trees are now 10 years old and they are HUGE. Kinda cool to think she took some sticks and now the tank is beautifully lined with color nearly all spring and summer. Might wanna try it. Just stick them in the dirt about 8-12 inches..half of them will take root.
Pray for a return to our Constitution.

tree will eat up a lot of the tanks water during drought. NEVER plant a tree on a dam either.

I was planning on building a house in front of one of my parents' pools and thought about the crepe myrtle thing. I was going to put low-voltage spotlights shining up into the trees where the light would reflect in the water.
Ah well, maybe when I hit the Lotto.

Yes. The worst are the pines and cedars which hold their foliage year around and when the winds move the tree back and forth it tends to loosen the soil around the roots and loose soil in a dam is not a good thing.
