I tell ya what guys,...i`m gonna flat quit asking guys at the ramp about the fishing ! !

Went by the ramp this evening just to check that my partner was not jackpotting with someone else; so i ask a guy in about a 4 year old 521 Comanche, ' hows the fishin `? : he says " oh i was just checking to make sure everything was working ok ".........yeah right ! .....and i see water draining out of his livewells,......he`s checking that the drains aren`t plugged i guess ! !

So it goes from delirium to melancholy with the next guy i ask, ' hows the fishin ?',...... says he . " oh i just had an old dog die,so i decided to bring out the left over dog food and feed it to the fish ",....... Yeah Right ! ! ... in a 2011 I class w/ a 250 hp SHO, and the front deck covered in Steez`s,.....rods too......15 k worth of eqipment to run out and throw some dog pellets ! !

I can actually appreciate lockjaw,.......but why talk to me like i`m stupid ? ? ? ....................

don`t answer that,........... i`m outa here ! !

Dont give up yet. There are still a few people out there who arent on top secret bass. Last year I went to Gilmer, (lake I never fish) and struck out for 2 hours. As a boat idled past me I asked him where all the fish were. Long story short he told me to follow him, threw a pack of senkos in my boat, and put me on some hawgs. Way more details than I care to type but this guy flat out showed me his spot and technique then left for another spot. Since then I have tried to pay it forward every chance I get. Oh and I have never been back to that spot.

how do you know he wasn't really just checking stuff? Could have very easily been checking his livewell pumps before a tournament this weekend.

BTW sounds like to me you have some deeper trust issues since you drove out to the lake to see if your partner was fishing with someone else!

Im sure he had just watched a competitor smacking them in that hole so he was using you to shank all the other guys fish before the tournament rolfmao

As I pulled up to the ramp in an aluminum g3 panfish model yesterday a guy in a Ranger gave me that exact look. He had to look my boat up and down before he would answer! LMAO! Guess he figured I wasnt a threat to so he said "Yeah caught em pretty good".

Man I know it sounds far fetched but it happened. For all I know he could have been Jesus. He did say " Cast your rod over there " and my livewell was full. LMAOROTF!

I'll tell folks pretty much everything I know except GPS coordinates and if the person acts right I might even reveal that. A fish ain't worth lying over.

I have no problem sharing information, as long as they don't use it against me in the same tournament. Will gladly provide, what, how, when and even where I caught fish. Just let me have my spots first on tournament day. Someone else still has to catch em. If it is a good spot, fish will replenish, if not, I won't catch em the next time I go there.

I can back this up. Been fishing with this guy for years and have never seen him tell someone a big azz story just to keep people out of his spot. Of course we are not tourny guys at all and enjoy having a good time on the water. Personally I think Tournaments are a great way for guys to get together and fellowship with fishing being what brings them together. Competition is also a good thing but in the end this is fishing........

It is bad how some people are towards other anglers. I try to help folks out anyway I can. The thing for me is, I can tell you where to go, what bait to throw, what color, etc., but sometimes it is all in the subtle changes in presentation that are learned at the exact moment in time that gets the bites.

Set the hook first, ask questions later!!!

Several times I've been on the lake with one of my old fishing buddies and someone has gotten close enough to ask us how we're doing. He says, "Oh, we've caught a few small ones."

I'll turn around and ask him if he caught some fish I didn't see, or if I went into a trance I don't know about...because we haven't even had a bite, much less caught anything.

I don't lie to people. I may not tell them everything I know, but I don't lie. On the other hand, I don't go around asking for information much, either.
