i found this info online & just thought i'd share it. i'll be a little sexist here & say that i think us ladies understand how to care for things... including our environment smile

this was particularly shocking to me 'cause i've been spending a lot of time in rowlett creek fishing for sand bass...and that place is just a dump. i can't get over the things folks do frown

Cotton rags: 1-5 months
Paper: 2-5 months
Rope: 3-14 months
Orange peels: 6 months
Wool socks: 1 to 5 years
Cigaratte butts: 1 to 12 years
Plastic coated paper milk cartons: 5 years
Plastic bags: 10 to 20 years
Leather shoes: 25 to 40 years
Nylon fabric: 30 to 40 years
Tin cans: 50 to 100 years
Aluminum cans: 80 to 100 years
Plastic 6 pack holder rings: 450 years
Glass bottles: 1 million years
Plastic bottles: Forever

It's really shocking. Some folks just really don't care though. There the ones that should be out there dragging the lakes for the trash. I think anyone who is caught littering should have to do sometime cleaning it up.
