I just hit the mother load as of 3 minutes ago and now they are in a cooler. Any help TFF on how to save em?

Imo threadfins get mushy. Hard to put em on a hook whole when they are mushy.

If they ain't 8 to 10 inches I don't mess with freezing and then they don't last long. IMO

wish I knew the difference between gizzards and threadfin I can't tell either, but I call anything under 5" a threadfin and bigger a gizzard. I know that isn't correct, but I think its fairly universal.

Threadfins have a narrower body than a gizzard and have more color blue/purple on their backs. And gizzards actually have gizzards like a chicken

Threadfins jaw under hooks the bottom. Gizzard have a rounded blunt nose.

I tried freezing shad but decided there was no point to it. Fresh dead works much better and they are just not that hard to find. So now I take what I need for today and leave the rest for tomorrow.
