creature baits and worms in watermelon red. White or chart or white and chart spinner baits in 3/8 or 1/2. If the water is off color (it is a lot of the time at Choke) I like to use a good size colorado blade on the back of the spinner bait. Top water should be working some then. Buzz baits can be real good at times. I have also done very good on DD 22 type baits. Like to have some white in the bait as well as Chart.

Red traps, chatterbaits, square bills, brush hogs and buzzbaits will not do you wrong that time of year.

A guy I used to take fishing Introduced me to the chatterbait. He couldn't fish worth a [censored], but he knew his vibrating jigs.

I heard he doesn't fish anymore. Caught all the big ones out of falcon and drinks sex on the beach all day long in Maui now.

I used to have a bass tracker and I would put in at the 99 bridge and go up river or back in Oppossum this time of year. Fish little pockets that the big boats can't get to and you can do pretty good. White spinner bait, square bill in sexy shad w/ chartreuse, and a watermelon red lizard on Carolina rig would be my baits right now. Good luck!
