Well now when certain folks spread misinformation about the program we can just post this link.
Thanks Larry and TPWD.

Here is what i am seeing. First off if i catch a 13 plus which i have one close already it would likely be from toledo bend. If i release her back she has a better chance of actually spawning she is in her natural environment. Which to me is well better than a 37% spawn rate. Second the spawn will go back to help the fishery which produced it. IF i new toledo got a fair stocking number i might consider it.
Second not crazy about the 72% survival rate either. Survival rate should be much higher if the fish is returned to the lake it came from in a timely fashion.
One other note HOW are they determining if it is a florida? My understanding is it is done by removing an ear bone and analyzing it. If this is true how is that a good thing to do to a lunker then try to release it back.
Dont get me wrong there are some positives on some lakes, but WHEN i get a fish over 13 from toledo it will not be sent off somewhere. Based on the survival % then the spawn% then the stocking ratio(asuming toledo even is a lake that is stock) there Is only a 25ish % chance this will benefit toledo. If i put her back That number should be far higher.
I dont want the SAL number in my sig or the lifetime fishing license that bad. Sorry.
