FSA is growing in the Austin area and is looking for more students who want to fish competitively. If you have a Middle School or High School student (girl or boy), and they want to experience a new sport, then check us out at fishingstudents.com.

March 25th we will host a "lure tournament" on Lake Georgetown at Jim Hogge - (start time tbd). This will be a student bank fishing tournament where the entry fee is a new in the box lure and winner takes the pot of lures. This will be an initial Chapter outing to get to know each other and to get us ready for our 2 official spring Chapter tournaments. We encourage any students that want to check us out come on out and join in on this lure tournament.

The regular chapter tournaments will have more and bigger prizes and members who participate in both will qualify for the FSA State Tournament. All regular tournaments will be bank fishing and/or paddle boat (kayak, canoe, float tube, etc). We fish for 5 species of fish in each tournament and there are winners of each species category and overall - based on length of fish caught.

FSA also has 12 monthly online tournaments, and many other opportunities. Consider joining FSA online, fill out where you are from and what school you attend, and you can represent your school. Some students work with their school leaders to build teams, but you can join and participate in the Chapter activities right now. Want to letter in fishing? You can do that too. This organization is the real deal and the directors are passionate about getting kids involved in this sport.

Adults - if you don't have a student right now, but still want to help get kids on the water and fishing, contact me and we'll take your help. We don't want to exclude any kids and we want the kids to get nice awards, so donations, products, and time are all appreciated.
