fished hubbard with son and 5yr old grandson today. got out about 3 saw birds by rock jetty headed there. didn't catch any under birds but marked some fish and stayed there when the birds moved on. ttried the drumming procedure, seemed to work. got into some nice size sandies. we would hook the fish then hand to pole to 5yr old to reel in. when we hooked the five hybrids that averaged 24" we stil let the grandson have it, little toot got em all in. what a joy to watch. all fish caught on moes slabs, don't know what they are called but paul rogers can tell you what my other grandsons call them. ddrop it to bottom lift it up and down real slow. oh yeah, should have seen the five yr old stopping his foot on the bottom of the boat like grandpa

That would be the Godfather slab. Glad you got into em!!! We fished this morning and it was a hair slower than usual but not too bad. Watching kids catch big hybrids makes everything we do worth it.

Nice report! Might wanna check you're measuring stick! In my experience, 24 in. Hibbies normally run a little bigger than 5 lbs. You're grandson was probably reeling in 6 and 7 lb. hybrid!!
Awesome!!!!!!!
10 lb. hybrid, 54 lb. cat on 3/4 ounce slab-- Hubbard

Good catch mike!!! Didn't even notice that myself but you're right about them being bigger than 5#. We might have us an over-honest fisherman here!!!
