I was wondering if anyone has ever fished around the college station area? I am trying to find some ponds and small lakes that are probably within 10 miles of here so i can fish while im not at class. I have heard of Fin Feather Lake but never fished it before. anyways if any of you guys know of any public places to fish down here with some decent bass fishing please let me know. Thank you so much!

Good luck man. Grew up here and alot of the land has been baught up by business men out of houston/austin that don't allow people on their property. The pond behind sam's club has yielded some good fish in the past. George Bush library can be fun with an ultralight setup (make sure to use barbless hooks, thats the rule out there). Finfeather can be good just make sure not to fish the side that has railroad tracks. Apparently you can get a ticket if you do.

Bush Library, Central Park, CS Police station pond (Cy Miller), Carter creek off William D. Fitch, pond behind bryan Target/NH Museum, Gabbard Park, Little Brazos off 21.

All places I fished a good bit when I was in school.

Problem is that most of the ponds all but dried up this past year... Don't know if the fish in Police station or sams made it through the drought.
George Bush is probably your best bet, but it does get a lot of pressure.
