If you have a cell, I'll pm you my number so we can hook up. I'm also going to fish Newman's at one point or another. My plans are to hit Irwin around 7am and go from there. I really hope to limit out early.

My cell didn't work very well on the creek last Saturday. It has in the past, but no signal last Saturday what so ever. Others told me they were having the same issue, so it wasn't my phone server.

I went to Newmanns Bottom a couple times years ago, but have never tried this Irwin bridge before. Is there a pay box like at Newmamn's? My.Dad and I are.going to give it a shot in the morning somewhere on the Yegua.

Thanks,
Brandon

Yes, there is a pay box at Irwin Bridge...Hopefully tickets left, if not...I have 1 extra saved from Nails Creek State Park I kept from last Friday... thumbIf not, make the drive to Nails Creek State Park...Pay your $3.00, small price to pay...
Annual pass or not, you guys need to fill out your ticket down there...Every ticket recorded, helps all of Lake Somerville's Parks cash flow (and attendance) to help keep them open... thumb

$3.00 per person, pay box will need cash...Annual pass($75 per year) should include all in 1 vehicle?....

you can pay at irwin bridge and if you decide to go to newmans bottom later in the day, keep your ticket on your dash,as it is good for both parking areas...

Thanks for all the information.

If you had to choose which would you try first...Irwin's or Newmann's? My Dad and I are willing to cover some ground, just not sure which would be the best to try.

Well I fished for around 2.5 hours total at Irwin Bridge and managed 7 whites. Lost 3 more due to pulled hooks.

Not the best numbers but all but one were above average in size atleast by my standards. Most people I saw had between 5-10 fish although a couple looked to have atleast 15. Didn't see any limits though.

I walked away very happy though considering it was my first time fishing a new area. Hopefully it'll just keep getting better in the coming week. May make it back out this weekend if I feel like braving the crowds.

I may post some pictures in the a.m. when I get around to cleaning them to give a better idea of size.

I just put together my jigs and rigs whitebass creek fishing box of goodies for Thursdays kayaking trip up the Yegua. Here's the plan...

Brandon is Harmon creek navigable in a fiberglass Bass boat or are aluminium boats recommended? Never been over that way but was looking at places to fish the run north of Livingston.

Was considering joining the kayaking excursion but not sure i want to muck through 100 yds of thigh deep mud! My daughter and I biked in 4 miles from BCSP to fish the Yegua on Sunday. Originally wanted to yak in but she wanted to bike. Sounds like this was a good decision. Got a late start so only fished about 20 min. Caught 7 whites and chose to leave to make sure we weren't biking in the dark. Came across at least 4 nice sized hogs and several bucks. It was her first white bass adventure. Last time i did this was 20 years ago! We had a great day and i hope we get to experience this again together.

I don't have a cell phone, but got your #...
Just got up, and my shoulders still pretty sore...So I won't be going out there this morning...
Bite should be good though, only a low of 66 degrees...
But may try Newmans Bottom around noon... thumb
