Thinking about which creek to put in on for Wednesday. Benbrook, Arington, or Joe Pool would be the closest. But, I'm really itching to head for Denton creek. Anybody got any plans?

Yeah I think that is where I'm heading. It's a drive and you gotta plan for traffic but that creek does produce. Whiskey flats is just around the corner but last two years it look lake the carps took over.

Where do y'all launch on Denton creek? And do y'all ride the river down where you have to shuttle back? Or are you able to paddle back? Sorry I am ignorant when it comes to water with a current.

I launch at Trophy Club Park. It only cost 1 dollar to get in to park and you can launch from the boat ramp. 5 dollars if you have a trailer. There is no shuttle service. You can take a left and go west down the creek or take a right and go up creek towards main body of Lake Grapevine. I have caught lots of white bass and cats in this creek in the past. Good scenery there also.

I've been itching to hit Denton Creek myself. I can't do tomorrow, but most definitely this Thursday or Friday. I wanna checkout this "Blue Hole" or "Henrietta Hole" people are talking about on the bank and whites/stripers section. Only thing is, it's quite a paddle if launching from Trophy Club Park. Launching from 377 is doable, but you run the risk of your car being broke into or ticketed.

The wife and I paddled Denton Creek up toward 377 from the Trophy Club boat ramp last Saturday.

Parking lot was on overflow. Fishing was slow ... only talked to one guy who had a healthy stringer, and not sure how far up he had gone to find those. Everyone else was getting skunked or close to it.

At least on the weekends, be careful if you're on a yak because the boat traffic on that little creek is crazy and they will come hauling around those bends and be on top of you before you know it.
