I have a hankering to get back to PINS, but dont want to waste my time if i wont be catching anything. Would like to go this weekend. Does anyone have any reports for North Padre (Padre Island National Seashore PINS). Thanks for any help.

AT, that photo was taken in Brownsville. I was down PINS Saturday for the Big Shell clean up there wasn't any Man o Wars down there. I made it to about 25 miles, the tide was high in the morning, but I made it most of the way without 4-wheel drive.

Last I heard there were still whiting and a few pompano being caught, we're supposed to get hit with a front sometime Friday night/ Saturday morning. It might not be the best weekend to come down, keep an eye on the weather

Thanks for the help guys. I was looking at that front and don't think I'll be making the trip. I may just stick around here do a little jetty fishing at POC and see what happens. Thanks again.

I would like this thread to keep going lol. I've moved my trip to next weekend (March 24) as far as the weather allows. FL-Fishlady hope to see you out there and hope to catch some fish!

Well we headed down this weekend. It was a mixed emotion weekend. The weather was unbelievable. Cool at night, warm not hot during the day nice breeze but not crazy wind. The water was as clear as I have ever seen in there, you could still see the bottom at about chest deep. Clouds int he morning to open sun in the afternoon. It was amazing... but... The driving conditions where horrible. The beach had been cut to hell and in most cases the only place to drive was the soft sand right at the dunes. There was more seaweed than I have ever seen, mounds and mounds of seaweed, in most cases you could see more seaweed than sand, and it came in all weekend in huge mats. It made it impossible to have a large rig out and even worse on the lighter stuff. We got skunked, fished dead shrimp, sea lice, and squid on the bottom and didnt get a single fish. We only made it to about mile marker 15 and had to stop, it seemed that the farther south we went the worse the weed got. Im gonna stick around POC this week after work and see how it went, caught a mess of drum off the jetties thursday night. Hope this helps anyone. Good luck.

We went to Bob Hall Pier Monday. Saw all the weeds on the beach road. The pier was busy with fisher-men/women fishing on both sides. This was my first time there and I am sure I'll be going back. Got a black tip shark to take home and caught and saw lots of bonnet head shark caught. There were also catches of Spanish Mackerel, Pompano and a Jack Crevalle. The weather was absolutely beautiful!!! fish
