200 h.p yammie 25p prop. Haven't found the sweet spot yet. Just seems to me that when the boat comes off the trailer it drops off the front roller then slides down the trailer. I've checked the bunk boards not broke or rusted. Maybe i need to lubricate the bunk boards lightly with silicone spray. I do mean lightly

I have a 99 ZX200 on a EZ loader tandem axle trailer. I leave the step at the front of the fenders just out of the water. This looks too shallow, but the boat loads just right here. Give it a try...

When loading on a steep ramp I always start with the trailer furthur out of the water then normal, get the boat started up the bunks and then have driver slowly back up while I continue to load. The thing you have to remember is your bunks are your best friend but if your trailer is to deep then your bunks can't do their job correctly. Of course this is a pain when your by yourself but its all part of low water lakes frown If your front isn't going to be over the roller then pull the trailer out of the water about a foot and I bet it will then.

One thing I was told before was to always back bunks all the way in the water first in order to wet them, then pull out to loading point and your boat will slide alot easier. i don't always do this though smile

LSUfan. i taught my 8 yr old to load up the boat so i can pull the truck up and down the ramp. i think that front roller needs to drop down. It's the way the boat drops off the roller then comes off the trailer when launching that makes me believe its to high

sorry I was only offering a suggestion to this post where you stated the front wouldn't go over the roller, you should just cut on it if you think that will solve your problem then wink

maybe your buddy isn't as good as your 8 year old is at loading his boat? LOL (sorry just thought it was funny and possibly true as I have witnessed an 8-10 year old unload and load a boat at lake jacksonville where alot of grown men have problems smile )

Go out and look at the boat on the trailer. If your boat is flat on the bunks when the eye is up against the roller the trailer is set up correctly. If its off the bunks near the front if the boat then you have an issue. Otherwise your loading and/or unloading issue is a case of operator error.

I still don't think you've let the good advice given here sink in yet.

I would not go cutting on anything. Think about it. How many boats have they sold with that exact same trailer? It sounds more steep ramp/low water issus so if you cut it how are you gonna fix it when the lakes come up?

I have a 2000 Skeeter with an EZ Loader trailer. I agree that most likely the trailer is too far in the water. It's one of the first things I learned...after looking like an idiot who had never seen a boat...when I bought it.

Welsh is an example of a steep ramp. The Villages at Lake Palestine is another, though not as steep.

Get the trailer farther out of the water than you think. When you get on the bunks and are straightened out, trim it up and hammer on it pretty good. The front of the boat ought to jump out of the water and over the roller. Then...leave the motor in gear and winch it up so it doesn't roll back off.

I think it's just a matter of trial and error and experience with the boat/trailer.

Is the trailer hitch on the bumper or below the bumper of your vehicle? We had this problem when we used to use the hitch that was on the bumper but once we got a new hitch that is lower to the ground we have not had the problem.

I have a 97 Skeeter / EZ loader trailer and had similar problems. I had to learn how far to back it in the water, silicone the bunks, etc. yet it was always troublesome. It was recommended that I change the 2 hitch drop on my Dodge 1500 to a 4 drop. I was very skeptical that this would help, but it did, especially on a steeper ramp.

On a really steep ramp this can be an issue. I think I ran into this issue at log cabin on Cedar creek a few years ago. I had to lower the trailer so the boat would clear the bow stop, then hook up the front tie down and pull the trailer up. Then I could gas it up the trailer and snug it onto the bow stop.

Most of the time it does mean your trailer is in the water too much.

you are for sure backing in the trailer to far in the water and it will get worse the steeper the ramp is.
