I may scoot back to an 18.5 with a 150 next time around. I love my 20ft boat that runs over 70 but at the same time, I usually cruise at 50-55 which every 18 footer out there will do just fine while being easier to tow thus cheaper on gas.

What makes a 20+ footed better than the shorter 16-17 footers? I only ask because I don't have a boat.

They just took some of the bells and whistles out of the TZX series versus the ZX. No jack plate, no deck grid system, single gas tank, single axle trailers, single live well with a divider. It was mainly redundancy in systems that more hard core tournament guys need.

The only true intercontinental champion.

Wayyyy smoother in rough water. Smoother period actually. The storage from an 18-20 isn't THAT big of a deal, I could do without half the stuff I carry anyway.

The days I will miss it will be days like last week when I was out in 20mph winds with it gusting well past that and being able to run across the lake with a (relatively) smooth ride.

Big water, high winds. I have a 16'10" and trolling rough water makes it tough to stay in place.

Once you go to a 20+ ft boat you wont go back. They ride better have more storage are more stable and you can fish 3 people easy in one.

Small boats are ok,but the ride of a 21' is a hellva alot smoother. Tournament day the wind always blow.

I have a 18 ft boat and do just fine but when the wind get going I have to rethink where I fish, and how I fish. Love the smaller boat, but there are major advantages to the big boats.

I believe there is an article in this months bass masters about this subject of.shorter boats with less bells and whistles. Makes a new boat available to more people.

A Skeeter dealer told me the TFX line was specifically built to compete against the Z-7 at Nitro. He then quoted me $33K for the the 18'8" TFX180....I told him he needed to get out more.

I've been boatless since Thanksgiving and having done my due deligence over the last three months ordered my next boat 10 days ago. Yep, my fourth one.
