Ive been doing alot of research lately and I would really like to purchase a Hobie Outback. Unfortunatly, im a senior in high school working HEB so buying brand spankin new probably is out of the budget, so if anyone knows someone selling a used one let me know. Have cash to buy.
Thanks, Brandon

Hobies are known to keep their value but IMHO, that older Outback is a bit "overpriced". You could add a very few additional dollars and get a brand new one that includes quite a few upgrades. Occasionally you will have a lucky streak and find a bargain Outback but they are generally torn up with oyster rash or pretty trashed and beaten up.
Until you are in a better financial state (like graduated and with a good job) but still want a Hobie now might I suggest that you look into the Quest. I like to describe the Quest as a Revolution, less the Mirage drive unit. Their hull shapes are very similar, very table but a good performer. We still have two new 2011's (yellow & dune) and one new 2010 (yellow) in stock. Call me for pricing details. BTW, all new Hobies have a premium seat and a premium fiberglass paddle included in the boat pricing.

Check out AKC. I think when I was there a couple of weeks ago they were 1895.00 and that was with the seat and come other accessories.

Last fall, my 2011 Outback was $2k w/tax, anchor trolly & shipped from AKC. AKC had my color choice in stock.
Still learning to kayak fish with my Hobie Outback.

Think about checking out your local independently owned Hobie dealers before sending revenue out to other cities. You will find your independent local dealers equally competitive (or generally, even lower) in pricing, well stocked with inventory so that you can take your yak home immediately, they will be there to support you with one on one value added direct contact and service, and best of all they will be able to immediately take care of any adjustments or issues that might arise.
People are always commenting on how difficult it is becoming to find many things locally that were previously readily available. Maybe there is a reason!

My reply is still the same and I hope that my comments did not appear as if I am plugging only our specific store. There are independent professional kayak dealers for Hobie (and many other manufacturers) all over the South Texas area. He should do his best to support his local area dealer and the economics of his community. His local dealer is the guy that he will always go to when he has a problem or is in immediate need of parts and service.

I understand that, but if I can find an affordable outback from a private owner I'm going to jump on that. If not and if my finances improve, new it'll be. Time will tell.
