Buying my first boat 2012 Lowe FM 175. I am going back and forth between these two units. My counsel unit will be a HB 1198C SI. The 788 is only $150 more so money will not be an issue. I will be fishing mostly here in MN. Will make some trips to bigger water like Mill Lacs. And some river fishing on the St. Croix and the Mississippi. The 788 could be ethernetted into the 1198. As of now the bow unit will be plugged into a terrova 80# thrust unit with built in transducer and I-Pilot. Would appreciate comments from you experts.

The Terrova transducer will not work for down imaging. You would have to mount a DI transducer onto the Terrova motor. I know from personal experience, the rep at Cabelas told me it would work but I found out after I got it home that it wasn't compatable, I even called HB and they said they didn't have any plan that they could confirm regarding creating a DI transducer option for the Terrova.
