Wouldn't it be fun to have a ladies day of fishing. I know we have talked about it before and nothing ever happens. I think it would be a blast. Wonder how many of us have boats that could be used and non boaters that would participate in a central location?

We haven't even started trying to get this started other than the suggestion. I would have room for two in my boat. We need to decide where and when. Could be a great day for the ladies of the Forum to go out and catch a few.

I think this is a terrific idea! I am obsessed with fishing and would love to meet some new fishing partners.

I have room in my boat for two and would be glad to help with the planning, organizing, etc.

Maybe we should post an inquiry of interest in the crappie/bass/freshwater, etc. areas too as I would suspect there are some other Lady Anglers who don't know this section of TFF exists or don't check it as often. I didn't know it existed for a long time because it's so far down the index page. Finding it, is what caused me to join TFF finally and stop lurking.

I'd love to see it moved up the index page so it's more visible and therefore, becomes more active via normal site traffic. It'd be great to see it in the "today's active topics" list more regularly.

Thoughts, anyone?

How about this? Let's pick a place centrally located to those of us who have responded thus far or who show interest by a particular date. Once we have the list of who's interested we can choose a date that works best for everyone.

I'd vote for Lavon or Texoma because that's where I usually wind up. But I'd definitely be open to another lake if it worked best for the majority. As for a date, obviously a weekend to accomodate travel time, etc.

If it winds up to be just a handful of us then we can loosely organize just about anything without a whole lot of lead time.

Ladies what a great idea. My fishing partner and I have been looking for new people to fish with, this is the perfect way. We fish Lake Lavon but would be willing to try another lake but maybe not Texoma since I have heard it can be brutal on a small boat.

I'm off on Wed and Fridays, but then if we go that day, Hubby will be along with me, he isn't able to take the boat out, so he depends on me to get to fish. If yall make it on one of those days let me know. Sharon

I'm really more of a weekend fisher myself. Lavon really isn't that far for me either. If I were to join the ladies on a day of fishing I would have to fish with someone else. I hate to admit it but I'm not that great at mastering the boat by myself. I can of course back the truck. I'm a pro at that. Ted has been trying to get me to put the boat on the trailer, I'm still not to sure of that yet. I can take it off and drive it around. I'm game keep us informed.

Great feedback! Sounds like Friday's work best with our various schedules and commitments. I'd like to see us forge ahead and try it this Friday (8/6), especially since the temperature is supposed to be a little more bearable.

I don�t have a problem with bringing spouses, SO�s, family members, current fishing buddies, etc. I�d always rather INclude than EXclude, especially since for us ladies anyway, it sometimes makes or breaks our opportunity to go fishing.

MsBass, you are welcome to ride with me. I have plenty of room in the boat and enough zeal for the sport as anyone you�ll ever meet� just not necessarily the backing/boating/fishing/loading skill sets to match. I would welcome the opportunity to learn from you.

How about it, ladies... let's go for it. We have nothing to lose but new friends, good times and (hopefully) lots of fish to gain!
