not a guide, just a weekend hack. but one of the tougher days i can remember on fork, had to work hard for bites and every time we finally get a decent bite the fish would'nt stay pinned. started out at my favorite spot, not a thing. checked out some new water and ended up with three short fish (they were keepers however lol) and a couple of lure spittin fish tales. not a fork vet by any means so i'm sure somebody caught em. let me know how the rest of ya'll did.

It was tough. We had three bites and landed two. Fished a lot of water that I hadn't fished in two years and it didn't pan out too well. That's how it goes though.

We ended a long day with only 6 boated and a few spitters. Fished primarily 6'-12. Most action by far was on a Wacky set up in watermelon/purple.

Caught 7 yesterday, biggest around 6.5. Saw water temps from 52-58 and pretty stained.

Allie and I actually had our best day in a month yesterday we had eleven with the biggest about 4lbs. we were on the water fishing before the sun came up and did not get our first bite till 11:30.
We decided not to fish today and just came home last night.

Fished the JCO tourney yesterday and we caught 12 or so. We only had four keepers but had four of our slot fish just touched the line. Pretty tough day overall.

does anybody else notice that they bite better on sundays, with the limited number of times i have been to fork it could be coincidence but i've consistently done better on sundays than saturdays. i'm beggining to think the increased traffic on saturdays really makes a difference. of course with march arriving this week i'm sure that it won't matter what day, it will be crowded whenever you go.

We had a tourny out there...Winners had 23lbs caught on square bills up shallow...We had 5th, our 4 fish went 13 and change. We had 6 bites all on a jig in 10-14 foot of water.

Almost everybody had a tough time sat. Its typical Fork this time of year, we keep going through a pattern every few days.

Day 1- slow, but not bad
Day 2- A little better
Day 3- Awsome
Day 4- Lucky to get 1 bite (but still very possible to catch a giant)

Every 3 or 4 days it seems has been like this all winter. I believe this is dictated by the weather fronts that move over every few days this time of year. So don't get discouraged if you have a tough day, Fork has skunked the best of them. That 1 tough day is not representative of the fishing in general. Overall the fishing is getting better. Often, the more calm pretty days are tough right now, but still great to enjoy time on the lake. I like to look for deeper fish on these days, seemingly less sensitive to the weather changes. Just my theory.
