There will never be another Ray Scott. He was and is the best promoter of all times for the sport of bass fishing.

I guess a bunch of you want greasy elvis back. Mercer isn't the best but he's ok. He knows plenty about fishing. Been a force up north for years. Fishburne was good but he could wear on you at times always going for the laugh. Hard to stack up to the original in anything. Ray was perfect and always will be. Fire up youtube and watch some of the old stuff. Maybe Hank Parker would be good but your not going to get him to do it full time.

Exactly KCFISHN. People dont stop and realize that might not be Dave's style at all. He is what his bosses tell him to be for the betterment of ESPN. If you really sit and watch hours of ESPN. You will notice that most of these guys/gals are selected to reach a certain audience. Paid characters so to speak. I suppose if it were all button down collar, ESPN would possibly reach a much smaller market. Trust me, Dave has not led me to turn the channel. As a matter of fact, he often makes me laugh. Dave Mercer can wear you out, there is a time for comedy and a time be understanding, curtious and have some knowledge about the fishing in that locality. Been personable with the fishermen. Hi's from Canada they bring him down here to MC. What does he know bass fishing down here and our fishermen. I think there are alott of other people here that can do a better job.

That's what I mean, he just says the same things over and over again. You can tell he doesn't know jack-squat about bass fishing. Dave Mercer is one of the best bass fishermen in Canada for smallmouth and largemouth. But I do agree he is boring and kindof annoyes me

Ever thing changes. Ray Scott is to damm old and all he wants to talk about is the old days!. That is a tuff job. Fish Fisburn acted like Pee Wee Herman . Everybody complained about Greasy Elvis. Know everybody complains about Mercer. Tuff crowd on here!

I got to talk to Kennedy in at The Classic in Birmingham and ask him the question about sponsorship. My take on it was, along with sponsorship comes major commitment and he would rather be committed to his family than to a bunch of sponsors he has to plug. In that same conversation I said what about Basstrix. He said that caught some smaller fish on a Basstrix and a "no name", local made swimbait. If he had a big fish follow his bait, then he would throw and catch them on a Hudd. It amazes me how BASS can edit just about anything.
