I was looking to buy a float tube, but before I do that, I would like to know if anyone here has one and knows how to do it, because I don't have much of an idea how it works. So, any advice or tips you have would be great thanks

Here in Southern California, the float tube fleet is pretty big. With the restrictions on the lakes it is a lot easier than a boat. Most lakes require boat inspections in order to launch. The lakes here are a lot smaller than in Texas. I have a Fish Cat 4 that I use in the lakes and the bay. It is a great platform for finesse fishing since you are covering a lot less water, but generally fishing more thoroughly. The Fish Cat is a little more expensive than some of the others, but I think it is worth the difference. A rod holder is a must. It allows more options while fishing. Here is a link to pictures of the rod holder attached to the tube. Enjoy. http://s1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd458/socaltexan/

I was just wondering what kind of waders you guys use. I'm fairly new to float tubing, I just got mine last year. I have rubber waders and what I've noticed is that in cold water the waders shrink to my body.

If you sit 5" ABOVE water in your tube or toon like me, you don't need waders in SOUTH Texas if your feet sit out of water. Waders too much of a hassle for me, but I might use NRS boundary shoes in snow melt: http://www.altrec.com/nrs/boundary-shoe?cm_mmc=Mercent-_-ShoppingDC-_-NRS-_-13243&mr:referralID=10cca72b-4f78-11e1-a1f9-001b2166c2c0 Porta
