You use the SI to find the structure (moving) and the 360 to fish the structure (sitting still)

It'll make it easy to buy a 997 or 797 for cheap since there will be some the upgrade to get a unit that can use the 360 transducer.

Here is some on the water video. Click the "behind the scenes" icon then "Humminbird".

They'll come out with a trolling motor mount soon. There will be way more demand for that than a deployable "probe".

I got all giddy when I saw this, but then I got over it. I've got one of the models that this is compatible with. But on more than a couple occasions, I have absolutely cussed at my 898c. After getting an email that I was a "preferred customer" (meaning I spent too much) and some type of "special direct 800 line" to customer support, I got on the water and my unit was in simulation mode like it was in the store! I call that special number and was getting a busy signal for 30 minutes... After going into every option twice and restarting it 3 times, the 4th restart cleared it. Geez....

Anywho, my unit has its share of bugs and un-user-friendliness and along with the headache that is the HumminbirdPC software (that admittedly, the latest version seems to have addressed) , I find these things pretty hard to use. And I've got a freakin' Computer Science degree!

FWIW, I would bet that the Lowrance models have similar un-user-friendliness, there are lazy/crappy programmers everywhere.

There's no telling what sort of restrictions and bugs this thing is going to have for a while. I'll wait...

360 comes out in August and mounts on a Talon. Will work with 800 series or higher per their rep at Basspro this evening

Do you have to have a Talon to mount it or does it come with its own deployable system if you don't have a Talon?

I saw the simulator mode for the 360 at the classic, I don't think it's going to be that great, it was super slow and I don't see refresh times being fast enough to get any sort of real time idea of where stuff is due to boat movement. Not to mention seeing fish will be hard as well I would think.
