Headed south this morning for the three day Troutfest sponsored by Guadalupe River Trout Unlimited in Sattler. Banquet and silent auction tonight at 6 PM, followed by two full days of workshops, classes, vendors and the Fly Fishing Film Tour. The classes are free and feature TU CEO Chris Wood, Pat Dorsey, Brad and Tyler Befus, and many others. Go to www.grtutroutfest.org for more info. Hope to see you there!

I'm guessing attendance will be slightly down due to gas prices - at least that's a big part of what's keeping me home this year. Thanks Mr. President.

Sorry you can't make it Shannon. We had fun last year. Going to try out a new Nikon lens while there (24-120 VR).

Having a great time at Troutfest, though keebranch keeps pestering me to buy a TFO one wt and others keep putting custom bamboo rods in my hands. Learned some tying tricks today from Casey Smartt, Brad Befus and Pat Dorsey. On tap to do some tying myself in the AM before heading back north.

I really wanted to make it but have an exam on monday. Hope it goes well! ^^^^^^ THIS + add a paper and another exam on Tuesday as well. 
 It's more than the catfish would do.

Why in the heck would you EVER want to "head back north" Mick? At least this far north? I'll have my Airstream there next year though.
PS - I have been having a blast with my new NIKON Pro1 V1.

The only reason to head back north is the family. The fishing was great and keeper sized fish were caught and released.
I resisted the custom bamboos (so far), though I did bring home a Scott Fibertouch 2 fiberglass In a six foot, three piece, 2 wt configuration with a matching Ross Evolution LT 1 reel (they had been calling my name from the live auction table).
