How many land/pond owners are in the surrounding Houston area who are willing to let a member fish?
I am strictly catch and release and would "work to fish" LOL!
I personely do not think the prices are very steep there are just not enough locations around Houston to justify the cost for me.

That's the same reason I passed on it....lack of locations around Houston.

Great post Dave, interesting to see the perspective if the landowner. For those who think it is too expensive, check into joining a decent golf club and see how these rates compare, you would find the fishing club is a bargain. Hey it's not for everyone, as a former owner of a bass boat with payments, gas, insurance launch fees, general upkeep and crowded conditions at the lakes, i would jump all over this for the peace, solitutde and money savings.

I first heard about this about 5 or 6 years ago and revisited the idea of joining off and on since then. I also thought it seemed expensive until I did the math. The cost (initiation & annual fees) did not justify it for me back then with a 2 kids under 3 and thus very limited fishing time, but now that they are older, I've really been considering it.
I've heard almost all positive comments from those that were members and have talked to Derek (the guy who runs it) a few times. I know the club does a lot of work with the land owners on managing the fisheries.
Maybe they could set up a deal for TFF members. I love me some pond fishing.
Another reason I enjoy sunnies, they're pretty
