Do you completely abandon the gameplan that you had coming in and try to do something else? (and i am talking after your "backup" plans have quit working as well) I know it is a dilemma we all face from time to time. Just interested in hearing what factors go into that decision from different folks.

If you know the body of water well, prefishing too much during certain times of the year, especially prespawn, can hurt more than it can help. It's best to fish the conditions rather than were they were one or two weeks prior.

Once they move on beds, the more time you spend on the water locating fish, the better.

When I get to noon and have got one fish in the boat the light bulb goes off. Then I abandon all hope, pick up a t- rigged worm and pray their on the banks.

If we're halfway through the day and it's not happening, time to just go fishin.

I believe in tournament fishing you have to listen to your gut insticts or hunches. We all have certain strengths and favorites in fishing. When its late in the day and you are striking out just grab your go to bait and method and burn up some water.

Never give up because one bite can salvage the day and it only takes 10-15 minutes to boat a limit of keepers if you keep your head in the game and find a sweet spot.

Somedays we are just not going to get the bites and I used to really beat myself up for it, not so much nowdays. I try to learn from the humbling experience and congratulate those who did well.

Good Fishing
Mark
