 First fish on the fly today

Just got into fly fishing about two weeks ago. Been trying hard to get a fish but i hadnt been able to get one until today. Nothing special just a 13 inch speck but it felt good to break the ice, especially with a fly I tied myself. Also ended up catching 5 skip jack.

Nice! I just picked up an 8-wt from Redington that I'm anxious to get salty. What size clousers are you tying for the coast? I just started tying as well and have about 15 cued up for whenever I make it to the coast.

Try tying your Clousers more sparse. Use a #6 or #4 hook and tie some with lead eyes and some with chain bead eyes for skinny water.

Try tying your Clousers more sparse. Use a #6 or #4 hook and tie some with lead eyes and some with chain bead eyes for skinny water.
I bought some chain bead yesterday and made a few with it and a few more with lead eyes. Made a bunch of color combos
