There has been several discussions about the amount of time it takes to download Freshest Data when you update your Navionics Chart. Just to let you know, WE HEAR YOU. We have heard as little as 20 minutes and as much as 14 hours to download the updates. Most of this is due to Internet speed and bandwidth, however we realize that it should be faster. I assure you that we are aware of it and we are addessing the issue along with a system to identify what is actually being updated. All we can do at this point is ask you to be patient, changes are coming.
People also are asking why update? We mave made over 100,000 changes in the US alone in 9 months. This is one of the reasons it is hard too publish what has been updated. We are also adding over 1000 new lakes which you will get free via Freshest Data.
At the end of the day just keep in mind we are the ONLY mapping company that is offering you unlimited free updates for a year and are the only company that provides you with the freshest data. We are also the ONLY mapping company that works with multiple plotters. We are the ONLY mapping company that gives you a free PC app when you purchase our charts.
Thank you for your input, please keep it coming. Thanks for being patient. If you have any specific concerns please address me via a PM. Thanks, I look forward to hearing from you. Until then tight lines and screaming drags!

Good info Navguy. You're dead on about the PC app, that's one of the best things Navionics has going IMHO.

Hey Navguy,
If you are still listening, please make changes to the lakes that have large areas of "Uncleared" water. The map goes completely blank in those areas. It should at least show the contours and creek channels all the way to the mouth of the main creeks. Maybe Navonics could lightly shade "Uncleared Areas" as red (or some other color) but still show all the contours and underwater features. You would make a lot of people real happy!!

Shawn, That's fantastic and I was not aware, however, I and many are experiencing corrupted maps downloaded to our chips. We then are stuck with a map doing us no good where we have may have a tournament in the next few days. Happened to me in January on Monticello, contour lines were missing every 100 yards or so..
Navionics needs scrutinize the updates they are sending out.
