Not to big on keeping and cooking them, but I dont freak out when others do.

My personal opinion on the matter is that its not a fish that travels and schools and they dont grow as quickly or as abundant as fish like crappie and sandbass. So if I am fishing for a fish to eat, I go that route.

Im not one of those dudes that get all whacked out though when others keep them, unless its a really big one.

They taste great! But I only keep the occasional 14-15"er. Heck I even throw back big Crappie. If they were smart enough to live that long, I feel like they deserve to keep swimmin and makin fat babies!

I like eating bass too, kinda like Crappartybarge, but maybe in the 14-16" range, or unders on a slot lake, but not the biguns. Don't often keep any but I like LMB as good as any fresh water fish, so I keep some once in a while for dinner for us! Sounds like Fat Ash BBQ cooks up some other award winning goodies too!
