The boat ramp would be a pretty good paddle to the area I normally fish down there from the bank but it is also the best and closest place to put in unless you feel like dragging your yak a mile or 2 by land lol.

Nolan River Park is not maintained by the Corp any longer. You will not even see Nolan River Park listed on: http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fishboat/fish/recreational/lakes/whitney/access.phtmlThe dirt road going in is pretty good until the last couple of hundred yards. With all this rain you may need a 4 wheel drive to get through those last couple of hundred yards. The ramp is concrete. From the ramp it is a couple of mile paddle up the lake to the where the river flows when the lake is at Conservation Pool. But the lake is currently down some. There isn't another access point that I know of in that area. Downstream from Blum is just not going to work.
RealBigReel I don't go too fast but I go pretty far.

The nolan was really rolling when I crossed it in blum yesterday. It would be a quick trip down river but you would never get up river! Should calm in day or two.

It will probably be a week or two before I can make it out there, sounds like it may end up being an all day trip. Thanks for the input fellas!!!

where the creek that 933 crosses runs into the nolan, the first time i went (actually only) there was some ppl in a deep sided boat probably 16 or 18 ft long, big boat in the river down there the water was down and not deep at all. as hard a time as they had getting out going downstream towards the lake. i cant believe they went to all the trouble going upstream that far from the lake.
