Looking for a local source for good clean lead. Appreciate the help. I am in Dallas, Mc Kinney area.

Buy some Chinese made toys. Sorry couldn't resist. Have you guys checked around some of the tire places in McKinney. Thompson Tire?

saw a guy at lake kirby the other day with a cheap metal detector walking along the shoreline since all lakes are low he has been cleaning up on old sinkers just throwing them in a bucket, with the price of lead not a bad way to go, he said he makes his own sinkers and this is how he gets most of his lead,time consuming I guess, but it looked like he was having a good time

Contact a roofer. Old roof flashing and vent stacks are really pure lead. You can even buy them at lowes or home depot. Its a lot more pure than tire weights.
it's the crapy days that make the good days that much better!!!

I just got 20# off of eBay yesterday. For clean soft lead expect to pay around $2 a lb after adding shipping costs.
