Well...I finally got the Coosa wet today. Not a long trip but it was fun anyway! It was my first experience in a kayak. Coming from having fished from bass boats my entire life...I was really impressed.

It was suprisingly stable in the high seat position and really easy to paddle. I haven't gotten brave enough to stand but I will get to that when the water warms up this summer. No water in the boat aside from what was coming off the paddle. I was actually able to launch without getting wet at all (shocker for me)

I did realize that anchoring is a must if you plan on worm fishing, even if the wind is as light as it was today.

Anyway...I am glad to join the plastic navy and I am looking forward to getting out with some of you guys.

Awesome. I stood up in one a couple weeks ago for about 20 seconds. Stable, but not worth the risk in this cold!
Rigging up the drag chain now.

Love the brush grippers and I do have a trolley rigged up....just didn't have anything to attach to it. What size anchor holds pretty well??

The WS Ride 115 looks like a good stand up yak from what I seen on youtube. I'll probably buy one without trying first.

maziesdad, glad you got the Coosa wet, sounds like you had a good time.

I normally use 2 anchors the drag chain system for one and a anchor trolly with the claw anchor on it for the second one. Since you are able to hold 2 of the retractable dog leashes makes it easy.

This way you can set the Coosa up to fish an entire area. Since the kayak is so stable I normally sit sideways and fish, will be great this summer.

Looking forward to getting out and fishing sometime! Do you plan on fishing the North Texas Trail that Josh is hosting?

Heres what I did on mine, I still use the dog leash when bass fishing and just want to go real slow. You'll get the standing down in no time, congrats on the new boat.

NoconaBrian, really like that anchor system, I was just using a rope winder, that is clean.
