I have been throwing LFT magic shads hooked with a screw In weighted hook weed less. I have had very good luck with this CombinatiOn. I have also caught them throwing Berkeley havoc grass pigs rigged the same way.
I have thrown some hollow bodys on open jig heads and I haven't had much luck.
I will tell you on lakes with big stripers like Texoma we have caught some 6-8lbers throwing them to suspended fish in about 50' of Water. Anywhere u see the gulls hitting the water u can usually get a few Stripes. They absolutely wack it!!!

I like using the Berkley Hollow Body Swimbaits the best. The Berkley Ripple Shad baits have been working for me pretty well lately too.

Go cheap use te storm swimbaits. They have been making them for years for stripers you can buy it at walmart?! Storms would be the way I would go for it. Looking forward towards tossing some spinnerbaits along with them also this spring should be interesting.
