I was at the NRH Academy earlier and noticed the new AS micro Allstars came in. They had a good feel to them and the price was $129.99. I thought I saw where someone was curious about them.

They had some at the College Station store yesterday. They looked like nice rods but they only had the frog rod and one other model. I might get one at the next rod riot. But for that price, I'd rather have a Falcon Lowrider.

I looked at them as well and to me they felt very cheap. Not up to par with other rods that are around $100 and for sure no where near what you can get for around $15 bucks more with a powell rod.

Does anyone know how Acadamy handles rod returns ? I need to replace a rod I broke and I am considering several different options. Purchasing from Acadamy is just one of them. It would be handy for me since they're right down the street from me. I didn't know if they're policy varied from manufacturer to manufacturer or not.

If it's an all star rod they'll hand you a form provided to them by all star and you'll have to pay shipping to get it to them and it's up to them whether or not they'll replace it. http://texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1317872

I can tell you that they replaced a Falcon for me reccently with no questions asked, just told me to go get the same rod off the shelf and bring it up front. This is why i buy rods from academy smile

Don't know if you were speaking to me but if you were I would say that I don't take back rods that I broke. I would however take back a rod that failed. The one I need to replace is an Avid. I stepped on it and I will pay to replace it.

I am very curious about the new all star's, if you guys pick some up I hope for an update. In the meantime I picked up 2 6'10" m.h. all star tas826c's for 59$ a piece...they retail for 110$ so ill be happy with them for now. Academy is great about returns, IMO.
