I'm looking at getting a 2 man buster style boat and I've seen all varieties for sale. I understand that if it's had TX numbers and the seller doesn't have a title then I'm out of luck (basically). My question is what if it's never had TX numbers - is getting a title relatively easy?

Thanks!

Having dealt with TPWD on 5 different boat purchases now I dont think there is any such thing as easy. Buying a boat without a title is not a good idea. If you do it I would make the sale dependent on both you and the seller going to a regional TPWD office to fill out all of the paperwork necessary. Otherwise you may get stuck with a boat that you will never be able to use on public waters.
