just a thought, but when I was back in Fort Worth earlier this week we drove over the Trinity River out west a few times. That looks like some nice water if one has a canoe or something shallow and floaty to work with. Plenty of trees overhanging there where we drove across out on Loop 820 headed towards 377. Also over there where it passes under 183 near Lockheed Recreation Area has some nice looking water. I know its not a pond but its all I can come up with. Hoping that someone in the area can suggest a pond or three.
Anyone done much fly fishing in the old Trinity?

thanks for the info i have fished in french lake a couple time. I caught a few crappie not quite big enough and some bream. As for rryhne i have seen people fly fish the trinity on the other side from the botonic gardens when they stock it with trout. but last year they didn't stock it because it was low.

French lake used to be great before it was drained. Right in the middle of a neighborhood. I had a buddy growing up who lived across the street from it and we caught plenty of fish from it. There was a guy who lived by it who was an avid fisherman and would go to ray roberts or benbrook and bring back a couple big bass each time and put them in there. I havent been there in forever.

In canada if you take fish from 1 location & put it in another its a 10,000 fine if you get caught..Same with water vegetation. If a warden see's grass or aquatic plants on your boat/trailer & putting it in a lake he will give you a ticket & make you go wash your boat.. If that fish is deseased it could contaminate the whole lake..I guess thats what their thinkin..?

I fish a pretty good size pond in benbrook it has a lot of bass but can sometimes be hard to fish depending on the moss growing around the bank. Last summer I my biggest was about 5 pounds and it really is hit or miss on what they take, sometimes it will be a shallow crank and others it will be senko worms, I kill them on top waters at dawn and at sunset. so take your pic. if you are enterested email and I can give you some more info. robert_0550@yahoo.com
