I am a student at Texas A&M University. I am looking for a pond or tank to fish in. I have not had any lucky fishing the few city ponds in college station and neither have my friends. I fish Lake somerville once in a while but would like something a little closer to town. I am willing to pay a small fee to the land owner. Please give me any suggestions.

Go to Gibbons Creek. 16 miles east of College Station on HWY 30 in Carlos. $4 entry, but well worth it.

Transfer to UT and fish the Highland Lakes, Town lake, and countless hill country streams, minutes from campus!

Sorry, just had to throw a gig into an aggie!

yeah i know, A&M is a good school. Stay put!

Start checking out some stock tanks and creeks, visit some property owners and ask! The worst that could happen that way is that you would get a "no", then you just move on down the road a bit and ask another farmer for permission.

You might be pleasantly surprised what some of those great country folk will do to help a college student out, when properly approached!

I found a pond outside of town I would really like to gain access to fish. I did a little research and found that the land the pond is on is for sale by a real estate agent and was wondering if anybody has ever had any luck asking an agent for permission to fish and any suggestions on the best way to go about asking?

Hey man, sorry I dont know have any info on that, but I just remembered that over near Pebble Creek Country Club there is a park with alot of bike trails. That was where they had originally planned for that golf course to go, so there are some ponds back in there. One in particular is pretty big and we caught some big bass out of it. You kind of have to follow the trails and you'll find it. Its definitely worth going to.
