Hello all, I'm loooking for ponds in the Grapevine area to fish after work. I live right by the Gaylord. I've tried the banks around that area of Grapevine lake and I've also been going to the ponds in Colleyville. I can't seem to catch any fish consistently at either one of those places and was wondering if anyone knew of any other places in that general area to try. Thanks in advance. MTN

Send me an email if you want to hook up after work sometime and drop a line somewhere. Those are the only two places I know of as well. I think the fushing in both of them will be getting better real soon.

MTN,
Your in luck. Because I will no longer be fishing ponds since my purchase of an 05 Ranger 185VS, I will share a well kept secret pond just seconds away from you. Look behind Bass Pro Shop. Coming from Gaylords on that street? heading to Bass Pro you come to a light. If you were to go right you would head into 121 and at your left- Bucks. But go left at that light and follow the off road trail to a little piece of paradise.
Oh, and the Hebron old boat dealership pond should be fished with heavy tackle. 1 ounce weight, with a baby brush hawg. Watermelon green with some red in it. Use a red Gamakatsu hook 3.0 hook. at least 25 lbs test. Best to use the fluorocarbon line too. Use a heavy jig too- any color will do.

Is that the one behind the Hilton with the fountain? I am trying to find any other ponds on www.dfwmaps.com and don't see any. Another thing I'm going to try is Bear Creek. From what I can see, it looks fairly large and deep. There is a lot of information about creek fishing in the crappie section. Right now, the city of Grapevine is working on a their portion of a cement walking trail that runs all along that creek. I know they have done quite a bit of work on it where it crosses under Pool road just south of Hwy 26. The have just started working on the path where the creek runs under the 121 service road after you exit Hall-Johnson. I know you can also access the trail from Parr park but I don't know if they've done any work on it there yet. When I get a little free time, I'm going to go exploring. I'll post what I find. MTN, ChrisB Shoot me an email also if you want to wet a line. I can usually get a hall pass.
Another reason I enjoy sunnies, they're pretty
