Which do you prefer? I use both, but seem to have better results with Jumbo Uncle Josh.

Of coarse that could be because I have used pork much longer.

Summertime gives a slight edge to Jig/Craw in my opinion.

Would like to hear from you guys/gals opinions.

Thanks!

You can't beat the action of real pork. Your color options are limited. The main reason I seldom use pork now is because if one of the legs gets between the hook's point and the bass's mouth you can't set the hook. The way a bass sucks the bait in, you stand a pretty good chance of this happening. I lost two bass in he same tourney and that cost us a win.

When Zoom came out with the chunk I thought that was the best thing ever. It seemed line the color options were limitless. The bad thing about the chunk was it doesn't have the action of real pork.

Anyone ever heard of pedigos pork trailers. Used to use their pork eels as trailers behind black cordell tarantula and fish it real slow like a worm. Caught a lot of big fish in lake isabella california.

Tony stole my reply! I like pork when the water temp is under 50 degrees. The fish seem to like it better for some reason.

Pork frogs make a true pig and jig, it is a better cold water bait but I fish them year round. I started with Josh, went to Gary Kleins Tournament Lures Pigs, Razor Rind that Gary bought from Cotton Cordell as I remember it, when that was no longer avail. late 80s went to Super Pork a Calif. based company the baits were super soft and you could set the hook thru them if they doubled over the hook. Super Pork baits had alot of fat in them which made the tails float high, the best baits had alot of bumps (round spots in the tails) fat that floats. Super Pork stopped production last year . This pork I believe is the best. If you can find some buy it. The best match to a Bo Hawg Josh is the Bubba Frog, then Senior Frog, Frog and the smallest Tree Frog. If you are a pork fisherman find these baits. I fish mostly the Senior Frogs. Tip,.... the baits in the larger jars 9 baits are better, less kinks in the legs and look out for mold at the top of the jars well as fat settled to the top of the jars. when buying if..you have a choice. There is a store in Nor Cal that has some at a great price (Phils Props Redding Calif) they are hard to find now so buy them when you can if you can find them as they are no longer made.

When in doubt set the hook..Retie often
