I went out to Northlakes park and got skunked. I stayed about 2 hours walking around the banks. The water looks real low and I was wondering if the lake has been stocked lately. I have heard of people catching fish out of the lake, but not in the past few years. I am also wondering if Southlake parks lake is stocked and has anyone caught anything out of it?

ive heard that if you use a small boat on that pond and find the channel of the creek you can pull some decent fish out of there.have you tried the pond at the old n.texas golf course(raddison hotel)?i caught a few nice fish there.

I have never fished at the golf course. Do you need to ask permission to fish there? I have wondered about that pond.

I have fished Northlake pond (the one off Bonnie Brae) and done quite well. I walk the bank and throw a worm or plastic craw and have caught quite a few Bass and Cats last year. Caught 4 bass over 5 lbs. Was out there last week and saw a guy catch about an 8lb. catfish on a spinnerbait. Hear the crappie are about to spawn and the fishing is supposed to be good. Southlake (the one at Eureka Park) has a lot of bull head cats. Don't know a lot about it though. I want to know more about the golf course pond though. Never fished it.

Nate,
What part of Northlake do you fish? The last time I was there, There were a million ducks on there. I fished the one that is next to the playground and soccer fields. It looked real shallow. Post the next time you go and I'll meet you there. Also, everytime I pass that golfcourse pond, I wonder the same thing.

Northlakes has two different lakes. I go to the one that is actually on Bonnie Brae. I have never fished the one by the soccer fields. If you know where the old K-Mart was, just keep going down that road and it will be on the right.
