my favorite crappie rod is a 9ft fly rod. I was looking for a backup or a new one. when I say fly rod I mean a cheap combo setup. been to bass pro and academy and the cheapest setups are $50 +. anyone know where to find a cheap reel or rod?

$50 is about right for any of them really. Good luck finding ones cheaper than that price in a combo. I bought a few cleaance rods from Academy for $13.88 and they are awesome rods but add a reel to them than they came out to be $45.

Slabman: You might watch www.ffo-tackle.com. That's Pure Fishing's online outlet store. They have some really good deals from time to time on their discontinued stuff.

I purchased a two fly rods from Academy a couple of years ago. They have plenty backbone which makes them great Crappie. They were on clearance and I paid $10 apiece for them. The Academy of Forrest have a few Okuma flyrods in the clearance rack.
