Marathons are rated at 55 mph. I would buy Carlisles over Marathons anytime.

According to Goodyear you can run Marathons up to 75 MPH if you inflate to 60 PSI. Since Marathons have gone to junk these days, and Carlisle tires arent much better I tried a new brand that came recommended from a few reliable sources that have been using them... Give Triangle tires a try. I havent had mine long enough to give an accurate review, but so far so good!

I am curious on this post as I too am in the market and put a lot of miles on my tralier. I had goodyears on my last boat with no problems and now have coopers on my cat but now you hear bad things like buda said about goodyears, coopers, and carlisle. I want the best tire out there and still researching but I hear good things about Kuhmo 857's. Only problem is I can not find anyone who carries them in my area and looks like I have to go through tire rack.com which I have never used and still need to go somewhere to get them mounted.

My experience with Carlisles: Junk!
Try to find some tires not made in China!

Well since Carlisles are junk what brand is better? What tire are you running. I have had Carlisles on my boat for 4 years never a problem and I pull my boat 75mph all day. We fish tourneys all over and fun fish all over Texas never a flat lucky I guess but I like them and would buy another set.

Get a good, quality light truck tire and fill to the max PSI.

Is your boat heavier than a car? What size tire are you looking for? If you are worried about bounce from the tire being soft get some 10 ply light truck tires they should last.

I have been running regular Firestone car tires on my 20-I, with no problems, going on 2-years and they look good!

I gave up on trailer tires!

I have had good luck out of my carlisles but i might of got a good set. One thing i tried and had absolutely horrible luck was using passenger car tires. I blew three in a year back in 03' before i went back to trailer tires. This was on a single axle trailer with a zx175 skeeter so they might work better on a tandem trailer. I wont be finging out though.

Kumho 857 is rated to 99 mph and has a D load rating (my trailer came with C-load tires from the factory, which were always fine too). Never gone over 75 mph with mine, but I'm glad to know they're able to handle much more than I'll ever do with them. I could only find them on tire rack.

Call Discount Tires and ask them for a mounted price. I believe they can order Kumho's
