Well they must be REALLY good...or REALLY bad since no one ever responds to the Rockwall questions. I live nearby, but haven't tried any yet.

Boat, I grew up in Rockwall and since the ponds have become parks, the few times I've tried them I came up with nothing. Myers Park might be okay, but all in all none are very good. Especialy, the pond that use to be called Sands Lake -now it's something else- it wasn't worth a flip twenty years ago. It's the one that's behind the YMCA on HWY205 north of the Square.

I fished the Myers park pond for about 30 minutes yesterday... Water was crystal clear with dozens upon dozens of perch swimming everywhere you looked. Managed one small bass on a rooster tail while I was there.

The Harry Myers Park pond has some really nice fish in it. The problem is that it is catch and release and people are keeping everything they catch. I have called in on 5 or 6 people and it just doesnt stop. I have caught several fish in the 3 to 4 lb range. I have also seen catfish come out of there that were 3 to 5 lbs. In the spring it is awesome out there.

Man, I have been killing them in some small Rowlett Ponds over here, I haven't ventured to fish in Rockwall yet. Last week right before that cold front I caught a 8.5 and 7.2 Bass out of one of the smaller ponds here. They are removing the Cattails so its like fishing stump beds...But in the year I have been here that day has been my best day. Biggest fish I have seen out of here was in early spring by another angler. I weighed it for him it was right at 9Lbs. I have managed to get (3) 7lb'ers since I have moved to Dallas last year. It seems the colder it gets around here the bigger the fish get! I might head over there this week with some new Tackle from Bass Pro! Anyone heading over there for the opening?

Are you fishing the Community ponds in that big park off St. Andrews?
I was at the Myers Park in Rockwall last week. Didn't fish, but it looked like it would be tough with the 20' ring of moss around the edge.

It's only a foot deep, or less, near shore. Then about ten yards out there is a ring of moss about ten feet wide. Then after that you can't see the bottom.

The only pond to fish in Rockwall is off of Washington St. back towards the airport. Used to be a part of the old Aluminum Plants' property but it is now a city park. The fishing is awesome. With the cold front and 20+ mph. winds I managed 11 fish in 2.5 hours. Caught 4 nice bass with the biggest being 6 lbs. on a Chatterbait in about 4-8 ft. of water. Caught 7 weighing around 1-2 lbs. on a rooster-tail running it down the bank just outside of the moss. I have fished here for the last 2 years when I don't feel like hassling with the yahoos on the water in a boat. I have never been shut out and have thrown every lure I own including a 3/4 trap and nailed them. Right now you are fishing for reaction bites out there. Alot of vibration and/or rattling is key. My biggest fish out there thus far is almost 9 lbs.(8 lbs.-15 oz. to be exact). I have heard of bigger but you know the drill.

The easiest way is to just download Google Earth, type in Rowlett, TX or Rockwall, TX and go from there. The Rowlett park lakes are hard to explain how to get to.

Try the park near the intersection of Centerville and 66. Has two ponds - soon the crappie fishing will be good in the ponds and Rowlett Creek runs at the back of the park as well - soon good sandbass fishing.
