I usually just filet fish that size. It's easier than culling them.

Well a friend of mine down there told me that he talked to his grandmother's aunt's great-uncle who runs one of the fish camps close to Nueva Guerrero and one of his netter's son's daughter's boyfriend's Dad's illegitimate daughter's son's daddy's momma's kinfolk somewhere on the west side of the lake told them that it really weighed 47 pounds 17 ounces and fed all of those named above and their off-spring. Take that! bolt

pppfffttt.... losers. everyone knows that a 16.8 is WAY more tasty than a 47-17.

I figured as much. That's why I asked when i first posted if anyone actually weighed the fish or not. Second-hand information usually isn't that accurate and it didn't look to have the girth needed. I figured someone would know the story behind it. Now we know.

I happened to be at Falcon Lake when this fish was rescued by a good friend of mine. The fish weighed 12.3 lbs and had a 1.5lb tilapia stuck in his throat. Both fish were released alive.

To all the yayhoos who believe this fish was 16lbs+, youall have to be the same folks that rated "Dumb and Dumber" as the best movie ever.

Get a life people and quit breathing speculation. This is one of the reasons that the TFF is merely a figment of your imagination. So much BS and so little truth.

I agree with pat. Use some common sense. A fish that big would be recorded better than a photo. If you found it what would you do?
