Im driving down Thurs and will be there thru Sun. Dad and I have trailers on the south end. If you need a cheap place to stay shoot me a pm. We're in the Los Lobos RV park. It would be fun to have some fellow TFF'ers in camp. You can launch off a point there by camp or drive over to the state park.

My brother has a trailer there and it is as safe as any place in the world, plus the people are great. The one bad thing is the dirt road.

I'd say its pretty safe. My uncle has had a trailer there since the early 80's and has only had the trailer broken into once maybe twice and had an old outboard stolen in the 90's. the park entrance is gated and there is a full time attendant that watches over the place plus several permanent residence.

who is your brother? Im sure my parents know him. and you're right, the road can be a mess at times, but its a lot better than it was 20 yrs ago before all the oil field activity.

Make sure they have a space available. From what I was told previously, there were no more spaces available. Not sure of the situation now, though.
Another possibility, perhaps, is at the Falcon Hts. Motel, there are several trailers there and it's just outside the state park.

now that you mention it, I think you may be right. They have plenty of room for more, but there's no water/sewage/electricty in place.

My wife and I have had our Travel Trailer 30' at Falcon Heights Hotel/Trailer park for the past 14 months; it is great, it is very secure and best of all it is 200$ a month period.
That includes your lot rent, electric, water & sewer..........
If you want to call them the phone # is 956-848-5229 ask for Carlos....
