I finally got approved for a boat loan, and am getting a Lowe 1860 with a 40 Mercury tiller. I know its a little lite on the motor but its what i can afford and get aproved for. I have to wait 4 weeks to go get it tho because motor is on backorder. It is the jon model nothing but boat with a floor. So i have a lot of room to work with. Just want to see everybodys boats to get some ideas of what i want to do with my boat. Open to any ideas!

Thanx,
JJ

I got the G3, 1652, just like that last summer. Maybe the best purchase I have made for fishing, takes a lot rougher water than I thought and I can sleep in it too! Plan on fixing it up this year, so look forward to what ideas show up.

Personally I would go used (boat & motor)before that much underpowered. Your lettin the bank tell ya what kind of boat you can have. Ive had enough boats to know better, think about if ya dont like it what ya gonna do, resale on that motor would kill ya.Just my humble opinion take it for what it cost ya

That boat is rated at 60hp max so 40 shouldn't lag too much. I had a 40 on a Tracker pro team 175 which was probably 3 times as heavy as your boat and it did fine.

I have a 50 Yamaha, it is way plenty, I don't think a 40 would be to little, I am not about speed in these boats anyway.

I have an old Bass Attacker. It is the Sea Arc version of the Bass Tracker via 1982. It is 16.5 feet long and has a 40 on it. I can hit 37 on a good day. Pros.. I can run all weekend on a tank of gas. It can handle some rough water but not Twak with 15+ MPH winds. It is a rough, wet ride. That being said, I have stripped it to bare bones and have even turned it into a tiller steer to gain more room. I love the boat. It does most of what I want. I wish it would turn into a 21 foot CC with a 225 overnight but it is what it is. I will post pictures if you want to see the old beast.
