I actually disagree with you. If I'm in a tournament and you encroach on me closer than what the rules state I will let you know. If you still encroach, we're gonna have a problem. I'm too competitive to share water with anyone beyond what the rules of the tournament state. If I'm not fishing a tournament, fish all around me, I don't care. But when my entry fee is on the line, just obey the rules and we will be just fine.
That being said, I expect everyone else in the tournament to treat me the same way. If I get too close to them, I want them to let me know so I can get out of their way.
On another note, in tournaments where there are no "encroachment rules" I do just fine fishing alongside other people that are close. I just put my head down and fish.

Most tournaments only have rules regarding distance you have to stay from a boat "anchored with the trolling motor stowed." Just saying.
I prefer to not fish around others either, but I will. It helps if they ask, and if they keep their distance as we all work around the area.

Hmmm....I must have read at least 20 different posts on here in the last several month's about the same topic. Ignorance is bliss and if an individual was taught manners during their child hood years, then these circumstances would rarely happen. Until we show our younger generation how to properly conduct themselves as a gentlemen or women, nothing will change. So, the next time you're out with your child, niece, nephew, cousin, friend etc... and these circumstances arrive, show them the proper way to handle it and what that person should have done the right way. Gotta break the cycle first. Just saying.....
