I decided around midday to make a run to welsh and fish before all the snow and winter weather ran us off. I wasnt there five minutes and had a whopper slam my texas rig craw. Too bad I had accidentily thrown over a fence that runs down into the water. I missed him to say the least. But I thought there was going to be a good bite after that happend but I was wrong. We fished the grass on the north end of the lake. Mostly I stuck with my craw long casting through the grass. I also tried a junebug lizard. no luck... And just to make sure I wasnt crazy I threw a watermelon frog. Nothin.. There were alot of fish making swells on the top of the water as we moved along the grass. Thats my excuse for the frog. Once the clouds came in and we started freezing we left.
If anyone has any advice they would like to share it would be greatly appreciated. The water has come up alot too. What would you have thrown?

I would've gone south... if it's not working out on one end of the lake, try the other.

I would have punched the deeper grass if the sun was out.

The sun was out earlier in the day but it quickly became cloudy. You punch through with jigs or does a texas rig do ok?

I fished a tournament there on the 4th. I caught 40+lbs on wacky rigs. Didin't matter the color or location. Fished stick ups, points, and grass. Partner landed 2 all day and I caught 18-20. 5 over 17" and 1 over 18". I got hung up quite a bit but losing $5 worth of hooks was worth setting the hook all day.
Everyone else in the tourney was having tough luck too but no one was fishing wacky. Try it!
