I was going to post this question in the rods/reels section, but I think I'd get a better response here. Hope you don't mind.

Just curious...what is the most sensitive rod people use when fishing? Let's keep the budget under $200 if you don't mind.

I wish I could add my opinion to my question, but I don't know the answer...which is why I'm asking.

Talk to Ron at Reel Time Rods. Tell him what all you plan on using the rod for and what all options you want as well as your budget and he'll put together the best setup for the money possible.

I have used a lot of high end rods and the most sensitive one I have ever used is an e21 Carrot Stix gold series, but that rod is also known in the industry to have one of the highest failure rates due to breakage. Mine is still holding up just fine.

Now with that said, there are a lot of good rods on the market within your price range that are plenty sensitive without the breakage problems.

Kistler helium or z-bone is by far the most sensitive rod on the market. With their new blanks they have the lowest breakage rate for graphite rods.

I know there are big names that are good, but this guy is really working to re-create his company.

I have some of the new Temple Fork Outfitter "Gary's Tactical Series" GTS Rods and they are as sensitive as any I've ever thrown. The price point is $149.95 for a rod designed by Gary Loomis.

G-Loomis IMX off of Ebay for less than $200.00?

The GLX's are more fragile and have a tendancy to break.

St Croix Avid, American Rodsmith team series, Falcon cara or a upper end Castaway. All are very sensitive.
