Well, I went to Parker Boats in Amarillo to get my boat this last Saturday. For those who remember they drilled four holes in my gas tank and could not fix nor replace it with one like it. When I went in Saturday to get it they gave me the total and I told the young man working that I would not pay that due to the problem. He went and got the owner of the company and I told him that same thing. He said he didn't see any problems, they did their best to fix it and would not charge me for the new tank and installation. The new tank being 21 gallons smaller. He kept telling that he had already lost money on the deal. So, his solution was to not charge me for the labor which only came to $290. I said that wasn't good enough. He said what are you thinking and I told hime $1500 for the whole thing should have been more than fair and he literally laughed at me and said do you expect me to accept that. We went back and forth and I could tell we were going to be there all day. He finally agreed to $2000 which was only about 390 off the total. Yes, I know I got screwed but I am not one to get alawyer or do anything like that. I let him know how I felt about it and left it at that. I could go further with it but I don't have time for that kind of thing and I just wanted my boat back at this point, they had had it for a month. The other thing was it had been done for a few weeks and no one ever called me to tell me it was finished. So it sat in outside in the bad weather for a wekk. Amarillo had some snow and very cold weather. I believe in what goes around comes around and so I am not going to go any further with it but I am writing them a letter and I am going to tell anyone and everyone what happened. So I know most of you don't live in this area but don't use Parker Boats in Amarillo!!!!

If you agreed to it....the only person to blame for the "screwing" is you!

I had a similar deal a few yrs. back. I was so angry because I assumed good communication and planning would prevent any problems. Wrong ! I , like you am not a litigious person so I did the next best thing. I picked up my boat and left , never to return again, nor will I reccommend that business to anyone. Sorry it had to happen.

I know that. Like i said at that point ijust wanted my boat back and wanted out of there. I am just dissappointed in the lack of customer service and the way i was treated. I dont have the time or money to get a lawyer or anything like that and i am not one to throw stuff like that at people. I know i got screwed but the guy stands by it and his name so i wont hold back if anyone asks me.

$2000 to replace a fuel tank is extremly high. I would of told that guy he's off his rocker especially if they drilled the holes in your tank. I can't believe you agreed to that. I can't believe that the guy actually charged you.

What was the original story? X2 if I am reading this right it says he is not charging you for the new tank or installation. What other work did you have done?

Story is hard to follow. They fubar your tank, you ask for 1500.00, they settle with you for 2000.00, and you are not happy....no comprende..

The holes in the tank were a result of them not moving it before drilling for a power pole installation IIRC.

So, did the amount include the power pole installation and power poles?

He bought and had a power pole installed.....the installer drilled into his gas tank. Could not find.....or didn't want to find one as big as the original. Put in a smaller replacement.
Knocked some $$$ off power pole.....due to the gas tank fubar.....charged him $2000 for power pole and installation.
I think that sums it up.

I don't know that they charged him for their mistake. Sounds like they replaced the tank on their dime then knocked off some cash for the power poles. I don't think it is quite as bad as the op is making it out to be.
