So the question is should I just go buy a new rod? This was my favorite rod and it just snapped! I have no clue why!! Is it worth trying to repair?? This is the first rod I have ever snapped in half slamming a hook set! It just freaked me out when it happened!!

See if Falcon will do anything or buy a new one are your 2 best options.

Where did you buy it? Take it back. It's not repairable. My advice would be... don't buy a rod from anyplace that doesn't have a good return policy.

It's worth a call to Falcon. There is no telling what happen. You could have stepped on it unknowingly etc......or it could just be defective. I had a similar situation and wasn't able to get it covered under warranty. Good luck. Nice hook set by the way. Had to be to shatter like that. Way to feed the steel to em.

Sooner....i will sell it one way or another. But I know how it feels to snap a rod and I would make him a better deal due that.

Plus.....Falcon's "customer service" SUCKS....at least it did last time I needed them.

Might have been using heavier line than it was rated for. I am overloading every rod I have so I lighten up on the drag and hope for the best.

Doesn't Academy sell Falcon? If so, see if they will exchange it. Can't hurt to try.

Completely understood. I got out of fishing three yrs ago and sold everything and now as expected by everyone who knows me, I wanna fish again so time to reload my ammo and get this started again. Just trying to find good deals on anything that I can haha.

This^ that looks like low rider. Academy takes just about anything back without a receipt. If they have the same model you should be able to straight up exchage it. Other than contacting falcon would be my next guess.

If they are over a few uses old I dont like returning stuff like this unless they are under warranty. I just buy a replacement,as broken rods are usually caused by storage problems.

Ummm.....Yes .......And no. The rod is burnt toast w/3 day old jelly on it. It likely didnt break "souly because" of your Conan powered hook set, but if it did I would think about dialing it back a bit. Or upgrading to saltwater gear grin
