We will be at Falcon Monday thru Thursday. I know it has been very crowded lately....but do you guys feel the crowds will be a little "less extreme" during the week?

Yes, the crowds on the week days have been a little lighter than the weekend. But, it is still a lot of people there because the lake is around 35% capacity right now.

New PB: 10 lbs. 13 oz. Lake Falcon
Old PB: 10 lbs. 4 oz Lake Falcon
PB: Ind Sack 38 lbs. 4 oz
PB: Team Sack 41lbs. 12 oz.

Is it seriously that low?? 35% of what it normally is??

I was there a few weeks ago and I did see quite a few boats I could not fish every spot I wanted to because there was a boat on them already.

You are right, it has come up about 2 foot in the last 9 days. I went down there 2 weeks ago and just got back at the end of this week. I had not looked at the website for the level as of yesterday.

If guys would just go fishing and have some fun, cherish the memories and you'd stop seeing threads with tons of pics on TFF about Falcon the crowds wouldnt be what they are. Theres been at least one new Falcon thread a day for the last 2 months and I would gather to say that 1 in 5 of the guys that go down there have the kind of trip that some describe and post here and many go there expecting to have, the other 4 get a swift kick in the nuts and come home $500+ lighter in the wallet! The post and brag threads from Falcon dont help the cause! A friend of mine that has been fishing Falcon for near a decade hasnt ever seen the crowds that are down there now and it seems as if its every week. Some guys just dont understand the harm the internet can cause sometimes and reaping the results sucks!

"White man catches big fish, takes many pictures and post on internet.....no more big fish!"

"Indian catch big fish, tells know one....many big fish for long time"

thats about as accurate as it gets!

This is silly unless you believe that Falcon should be your private fishing hole. By this logic you shouldn't be able to catch a fish over 2lb in Fork. And big tournys brought Falcon to the attention of the rest of the country. I guess Toyota ruined Fork? Now if you want to talk about a slot on Falcon, I'm in.

We are heading to Falcon a weekfrom today and we had a hard time finding a room . It's the first time that we will not be able to stay at Oso. Wasn't that long ago we just showed up and seemed like we had the lake all to ourselves during the week. But then again it doesn't seem like it was that long ago that there was only one Bass Pro Shop.

Couldn't agree more. I've seen this at a local lake at college. A few people catch some toads and post it all over the internet and this site. They get pissed a week later when they can't find a parking spot at the boat ramp.

I'll bet the local businesses in Zapata aren't complaining about the crowds. I guess you would like them to all do poorly and go out of bussiness? I for one am hopeful that the new found interest in the lake might cause someone to open up a good place to eat in Zapata!!

P.S. I also thanks to the posts that I saw on this sight, was enticed to to go to Falcon this past October for the first time and hire a local guide. Had the best day of fishing of my life. And I hope that when I posted my results of that day here, that maybe I contributed to someone else to do the same.

I would think the all the tv shows have more to do with the crowds on Falcon than the internet. In the past month,I've watched Mark Zona,Big Bass Battle,Ardents Bass Battle and a Strike King episode all showing how easy it is to score really big bass on Falcon.

Keep coming down......I like seeing this town thrive, a lot of good folks here. Next time you're here try the bakery on 17th behind the route 83 drive thru. You won't be disappointed.
